Today we took a test on Chapters 3 & 16.1. We then started looking into Chapter 4 and started filling in a worksheet on The Atom and scientists discoveries about the atom.

Today we took notes on the seasons & energy transfer in the atmosphere. I handed back your Natural Resource Research Project.

HW: Answer Questions 1-5 on page 487 in your books. (Section 17.2)

Today we finished taking notes on renewable energy. We broke into groups and began researching Pro-nuclear energy vs Anti-nuclear energy, and Pro-Cape Wind vs Anti Cape-Wind.

HW: Find an article that supports your groups cause and bring it to class tomorrow.

Today we took notes on Section 3.1 and learned the three types of rocks that exist, the ways they are formed, and the process we call the rock cycle. We reviewed your 3.1 Reading Guide and watched a short video on the Rock Cycle. In this video we learned the 3 types of weathering and the process of lithofication.

No homework tonight.

Today we paired up and played "give-one-get-one" as our review for tomorrow's quiz on minerals (Chapter 2)

We formed groups and began "The Roving Mineralogist." In this exercise we learned the different physical properties that are used to classify minerals.
